Six Shooter is an Irish 2005 live action short film starring Brendan Gleeson and Rúaidhrí Conroy.

Awards: In 2004 the film won as Best First Short by an Irish Director at the Cork International Film Festival and the Festival Prize as Best Irish Short at the Foyle Film Festival.
In 2005 it was nominated for the Best Short Film BAFTA Film Award and won the Best British Short British Independent Film Award and the IFTA Award as Best Short Fiction, where it was also nominated for Breakthrough Talent (Martin McDonagh - writer/director).
On March 5, 2006 it won the Academy Award for Live Action Short Film. In the same year, it also won the Audience Award at the Leuven International Short Film Festival.

Synopsis: At the hospital, a doctor gives Donnelly the bad news: his wife of many years has died. He visits her body, placing a photograph of their pet rabbit on her hands. Then, in the early morning light, he leaves and catches a train back home toward Dublin. He sits across from a young talkative man who seems to have a loose screw, making coarse observations, starting an argument with a couple in the next seats who are clearly tense with each other. Over the next few miles, Donnelly learns that all four have lost someone that night, and, in a strange turn of events, the kid bequeaths to Donnelly a gift that may ease his pain. There's a strange bond in grief.
