Synopsis: A Danish fashion photographer becomes obsessed with her Polish lover in Per Fly's often exasperating sexual thriller "The Woman Who Dreamt of a Man." Playing like a bad Brian De Palma pic set in northern climes, the film rehashes too many madwoman fixation themes to lay claim to originality, while its frigid design highlights the ugliness of so much of the "chic," colorless Scandi aesthetic. Danish B.O. following a late January opening was disappointing, and despite healthy international play for Fly's earlier "Manslaughter," fest life won't rack up miles.
Shutterbug K (Sonja Richter) has a recurring dream of a naked man in a hotel room jumping off a balcony. In Paris, she's thunderstruck when she sees economics professor Maciek (Marcin Dorocinski), since he's the guy in her visions; they embark on an affair that heats up when she gets a gig in Warsaw...
